Solar battery charger

I have to leave my TD5 for up to 8 weeks. Is the battery likely to discharge in this time ?. If the battery goes flat will I lose information from the ECU or any of the other computers ?. Should I use a solar charger of about 2 watts to keep the battery "alive" ?.
 
I don't know if you'll loose any data, remember you don't when you change the battery. But i'd use a solar panel anyway, just so it will be easy to start.

If you are using a cigar socket though, make sure its constantly live with the ign off, otherwise it won't charge anything.
