Steering box, which one?

ROB 110 HICAP

Extreme Landy Fan
3, 4 or 6 bolts? I'm guessing I need to look on the top of it and count the number of bolts? Counting and looking at the same time can be difficult for me:D Its a 1988 2.5td with PAS. Any recommendations on where to go, paddocks £199+vat with drop arm plus £100refund, anybody else?

i think its a six bolt one rob. its got six bolts on it anyways.
the drop arm is there but could be doing with the ball joint rebuilt.
it came with a rolling chassis i bought and ive not used it as i went for manual steering instead.
it looks wet in the pics but this is due to it being in a plastic bag and the fluid ran out all over it.
might have to check postage on it though rob as it is quite heavy.

All the PAS boxes fit Rob. I had 6 bolts and they leaked like a sieve, horrid boxes in my experience - 3 in 2 months!!!!

Have a 4 bolt box now and it is faultless!

Interesting Guy, I was worried that a crappy exchange recon may lead to a few more frequent exchanges! I think paul vp has had 4 in 5 years on his disco! Are all the hose fittings the same on 4 and 6 bolts boxes then?

Yup the hoses are all the same between the 3, 4 and 6 bolt boxes! 100% interchangable.

From what I understand the 3 and 4 bolts are easily recon'd and last well, the 6 bolts do not recon well and frequently even after recon'ing they still leak out of the bottom seal. THe recon company I got my boxes from even admitted this and that they do not know of a way to prevent them leaking!!!! They then exchanged my 6 bolt for a 4 bolt! Problem (thus far) solved!

Adwest 0800 035015, box with drop arm and ball joint is basically £262.67 inc vat/delivery. Then you remove your old one and they collect it and refund £50 less collection charge.
