Well there is a couple of inches in the ground this morning, and the really sad thing is Dorris has my truck to take to work and not me :(

I gave here a quick lesson when/if she should use the diff lock, and she leant to drive in the snow in Czech where she is from, so hopefully she will be ok.......

So tempted to call in work sick and go lanning!!!!! Oh well, lets hope its here for the weekend....

We have snow in Redhill too - the kids want to walk to school tho :(

Its not silly deep - only an inch or so......

When I was a lad, living up north, this amount wouldn't be worth mentioning!

Still, the 5 year old is comvinced its christmas :D again...

"quick, get the decorations up!" he said. His brother said "It's not Christmas," to which the small one replied "look outside then!"

And the dogs love it too!

I had great fun this morning:):):) have you ever power slid a landy:D:D I have and I have to say it was fantastic....even if i was only doing 20:D

There's not a grain of salt on them roads though

There's even snow here on the heat island - SW London. My job for the day has been cancelled - I'd like to think because they were thinking of the engineers, having to work outside and under an MRI mobile on a day like today - but I bet they weren't.

Took the Disco out to find a hill to play on, but Lambeth and Croydon have solved the unemployment problem in the salt industry - perhaps I should go up to the car wash and jet wash underneath?

People drive too fast on snow. Period. There was nothing that was going to stop me - a couple of rises with cars sitting at the bottom looking glum - but I often had a queue of cars behind me. Perhaps a Renault Megane or a SEAT APV is better on snow and ice than a Land Rover? Hmmm.

Going down a very steep hill, I used low first and just let it wind down on idle, touching the brakes once to test - the ABS went berserk - and there was a Freebie right behind me. When we got to the bottom, I called back to ask if she'd used the HDC. What? Your HDC, did you use it? I haven't got one - what is it? Not normally accused of being a Chelsea Tractor but .....

Roger.

Oh.. those were fun filled days. Snowed in at work & the only way out was to accept a lift from 'Super Kev'... when not using his Lavarda Jota he liked to take his plastic pig, all held together with masking tape.
Great thrill when you come to a super windy hill in a built-up residential area with cars parked on alternate sides.
I'm still not convinced to this day that he negotiated all obsticles without touching them purely by skill alone!

A little bit around Sevenoaks, so I went out at first light for a play around the lanes and the 2 tracks we have around here we can use, well I can use I dont think the Freebie would like a couple of the others.

Great thing about the snow is you can't see what a total mess my garden is :D , yep it's the one on the right.

me and steve did the little lane at fox corner this morning before work :D

its so muddy down there at the mo will post the pickys tomorrow when i have more time.

When I woke to find the snow had fallen was a bit miffed as Landy in drive behind my banger and wife's car and c.b.a. to clear two cars before I got it out . grrr.
However had a very quick run in to work, as due to accident between J8/9 loads of traffic stuck behind it (I assume), so had a clear run from Wisley J10 to Staines and was in work earlier than usual!!
Got home tonight and parked banger in road and started LR to check it fired ready for tomorrow - bring on the snow!!
Saxo Killer - if I'd have still been working in Frimley I'd have made sure I did the Old Guildford Rd in Frimley Green before getting to my desk. :D

This must be a shock to the system Luke. Just when you get over the jet lag, the weather goes and reminds you which hemisphere you're in.

Off to Taupo on Sunday, so I'll see some snow, but no chance of driving in any of it.

Bit of a wasted effort today! Looked out of window when I got up but only a covering of frost. However did go in LR and a splendid journey it was, as usual. Have a much better feeling driving to work in a classic motor than the eurobanger.

Whoopy doo! Enjoy your smattering of snow folks; we have had about a foot in one night here, and it keeps coming down just enough to top up, and coat your spotlights in a cake of snow. Side roads are an inch thick in ice from compacted snow, sudden blizzards spring up... I'm damned glad I'm in a Range Rover, but at this depth and with these other drivers about, snow's not a toy any more - I'd be having a lot more fun if I was in England!
Are you SURE 1st low is a good idea downhill?? Not a bit TOO low, risking locking? Oh well, you were there...
I'm sat in the middle of a country where everyone skis or snowboards, and it's only the expats that are grumpy about the snow!
