Td5 engine slightly ticking?

Domagoj-Td5

Shifting Up
Few days ago I had my head gasket changed. Yesterday when i was driving it I found out that the engine is slightly ticking when in idle, but not always and soon as I revv it up the sound is gone or maybe I just can't hear it any more, so I was wondering if someone might know what could it be??

I dont know this engine at all, but usually a ticking on tickover is due to the hydraulic tappets. This isnt unusual if the engine has been stripped down as your has (sometimes they take a long time to settle down again), or if you start using a different type of engine oil (etc)... Often the ticking goes away when you rev the motor as the oil pressure changes...

Like I said, I dont know this engine, so may not be that at all...
Best bet is to get someone who *does* know it fairly well to have a listen...

Check the gaskets on the exhaust manifold. If the nuts haven't been torqued correctly, it's not unknown for the engine to tick slightly at idle or slight load.
