TD5 G/box Thrust Bearing

smonkey

Offroader
I think my thrust bearing is on its last legs, everytime I depress the clutch a rumbling noise is heard from the Gearbox. I know this is a gearbox out job and I will change the clutch at the same time.

Any tips for changing this or proving it is the thrust bearing would be useful.

It is the original clutch fitted and has covered 118K

Sounds fair enough - 118k on clutch, just be prepared to buy a flywheel as well.I warn all customers that a clutch job on a TD5 has a 50% chance of needing a flywheel as well.Ask Templ4r - bet he loves dual mass flywheels as much as I do.

The Dual Mass for Rovers, Fords, Hyundais and VWs range from £400 to over £600.

Benji will be able to give you a Land Rover price for the parts.
