Tow Bar Height.

Disco Graham

In Second Gear
When I deploy my electric tow bar on my 2022 Discovery sport , the height of the ball is 50mm from the ground. Every car whether it be a Ford, Vauxhall, or any other car with a fixed tow bar they measure 40mm from the ground. My problem is when I hitch my caravan up to the car the caravan nose is high and the rear of the caravan is low. I have so far had to replace the rear caravan steady pads twice due to being broken on speed bumps. When you look at the car and caravan all connected , the car is level and the caravan slopes backwards. Does anyone know if the tow ball height can be lowered to 40mm please.
I have contacted the Caravan Club technical dept. and they say a caravan nose should be slightly lower than the rear.
Your thoughts please.

Heard about this before. Apparently LR in their infinite wisdom fit the tow ball at 50cm (50mm is about 2"). You'll need either a tow bar that has the ball lower down, or raise the hitch on the caravan; or sell the LR and get something else.

It was your post. You spamming?
