Tyre selection?

In Second Gear
My friend is going to buy some BF Mud Terrains for his defender 90 to green lane and light off road in, as well as use on the road.

I have some 265 75 16's on weller 8 spoke rims and have been really pleased with the set up.

He wants advce on tyre size? He is torn between 265 75's and 265 85's?

Any advice would be much apreciated.
