Under bonnet rain channel

Has anyone extended / modified their rain channels to divert water away from the ever vulnerable footwells? I saw (somewhere on social media) a post where some clever soul had used a dishwasher drain hose to do just that but wondering if there's a more period looking solution out there?

I used some butyl strip to extend mine, but also sealed the seam (gap?) between the wing and bulkhead as plenty of water finds its way down that way.

I know this is a subject that comes up quite a bit with owners having water getting in from all sorts of places. I’ve now got water coming in from the front passenger footwell heater /temperature/blower panel that sits below the fascia. Only drips and drabs (following rain) but enough to soak...

I might not be thinking of the right gutter, but this is what I have under the back edge of the bonnet to take the water just that little bit further out over the arches rather than down through the engine bay. Its just a bit of Alu shaped and screwed on with sealant filling the gap. Same both sides, just needs painting.

I did this very early on during my recommissioning of my vehicle and it's saved a whole host of issues I think.

Sadly, I didn't extend the gutter and as a result my drivers footwell top is seriously bad in a couple of places now.

I think I like it; it's a bit Heath Robinson but I prefer it to drilling holes in an excellent bulkhead.

Maybe I'll plant some moss seeds in it, then it'll match the green on the bonnet

I actually found a brand new tin of Land Rover Bronze Green paint in the garage the other day, I didn't know it was there... Quite an exciting find
