Urgent Help - Door Lock

Hi all

I've just broken the key off in the rear door lock!. Managed to get the handle etc off, but can someone please tell me how to get the barrell out.

If you take the complete lock mechanism off the door, in the barrel you should see a small hole, get the key barrel lined up so you can see a corresponding hole in it and then using something to push down the pin inside pull the lock barrel out. It's a real pain to do. When I did mine I stripped the mechanism completely apart which is interesting to say the least !!

Thanks for the info:

The key is actually broken off in the barrell, so I can't move it. I think I'll have to drill the old barrell out first and then refit a new one.

I'd try hammering a screwdriver down the side of the key 1st, it may pull it out. You never know

You need the key in the barrell to move the tumblers before you can get the barrell out.
Generally I pull the barrell out with the key.
Try a self tapper doen the side of the key.
