Thinking about heading towards Llandudno on Sunday, perhaps near Betws y coed. Dad wants to have a play with his new TomTom, so I was wondering if anyone knows any nice little roads in mid/north wales that would make a nice Sunday drive? Or perhaps any green lanes, but we're going to be a Freelander on our own. I know it isn't advised to do green lanes on your own so it will probably be better to stick to roads, or extremely easy green lanes.

if you want to do some light greenlaning at some point pm me, im a freelander owner, based in cardiff and im sure we can find some easy lanes to use our landies on

James

Thanks for the advice guys. Ended up just going to Llandudno and on the way back trying to find a ford I found on wetroads, couldn't find it though :(

Saw a couple of the new Freelanders so the day wasn't completely wasted :coolbrown

James, we'd quite like to meet up with another Freelander to do some laning in summer, perhaps we could arrange something nearer the time?

Thanks again everyone,

Andy

Spoken to Dad. No can do I'm afraid, the landy's got to pay a visit to the garage next weekend because it's got dodgy steering :(

Andy

what sort of lanes you looking at doing Andy, plaaning on doing some south of shrewsbury soonish,

some may be a little scratchy, but not extremme ruts, probably a nice days drive, with some fords / wading but should not be that deep

I think laning has been put on hold for a while, the steering has got big problems and Dad doesn't want to spend money getting it mended then risk damaging it again :(

I'll mention the idea to Dad though, any lanes are good as long as they're not heavily rutted!

Cheers,

Andy

most the ones i know and localish round this end have not got deep ruts, got a route togther to do, but want to walk a couple of the lanes to check access and clearence issues, have done a few of them and wouold consider freelander friendly, as long as you dont mind the odd scratchy bush
