I once arranged to meet some bike mates en-route at a pub. Me and one mate arrived, we decided on a quick pop while we waited so went in. Ordered the drinks and were just supping them when the barman comes over, compliments me on the BSA belt buckle I had, then told me that I could only stay in the pub if I removed my leathers.

So, I did. All of them.

"put them back on, back on!"

Has all this lockdown frightened everyone away from the pub? I would have though you would all be eager to nip in for a swift pint! I am here drinking on my own!

If I am honest I have barely stepped in to a pub since they banned cigarettes inside... It was bad enough breathing in all that smoke, but now the smell of urinal cakes and fermenting upholstery is just too much to bear...

I agree.... usually well dressed and clean living people, I always feel so out of place ! At least in here no one is judging me because I have the wrong trainers on :rolleyes:

It's always struck me as odd how, those people that enjoy alcohol and can deal with the effects of it, dont make their own. I imagined that during the lockdown people might start making bathtub gin again and going blind but it seems not ... although to be fair i dont know if any studies have been done, has there been an increase in home brewing ? It jus seems curious that, with it being so easy to make booze, more people dont do it...........and avoid paying so much tax on their chosen relaxant/stimulant/go-to helper !!! .........

I’ve not done homebrew as yet but got some bits to try a cider and a wine now the bar is finished
