What could i reasonably expect for it?

Abu

Trekker
I said i would never sell it but by the summer i will be buying a new 90 so it has to go:(:) Im envisaging doing a hell of alot of motorway miles next summer so fancy something with a bit more refinement

What do you think i should ask for my 1985 2.5 na 90 hardtop:) Took it to a garage today and got it checked over....they said nothing major:) Took it on an 80 mile test drive today and all was well.

Good bits:
Will be sold with a years tax and MOT
recon gearbox 10000 ago
new timing belt 600 ago
Mud terrains 70% tread
Smoke on start up but thats pretty much all you will see.
serviced every year since ive had it at Cowley and Co.
New exhaust
Snorkel
transfer box is good
new UJ's
tidy on the inside

Questionable bits:
speedo doesnt work
Body work isn't perfect
charge light stays on (it has done for the last couple of years but it s never failed to start)
Looses oil pressure when really warm after long motorway drives.

All i can think of at the moment

Adam:)

Solved the oil pressure problem. My dipstick isnt original. Out came 4.5l which according to the dipstick is normal. In went 6 l of high quality 15w 40 as per land rover manual. Waaaaaaah above unoriginal dip sticks high mark:)

This weekend will be the big test 500miles:eek: Will be a breeze:rolleyes:

Id watch you dont put too much in!!!! This can cause just as many problems as having none or very little at all!!!

In that case Abu, I suspect your dipstick has just simply pushed down too far into your sump. Happened to mine... Makes it read waaaay over. Its just a simple banjo nut IIRC, so if it comes loose it pushes in.. Buy a new one (under a tenner I think) and job done. If you've overfilled the oil by THAT MUCH it will come squirting out again (so I was told by the garage who I thought had overfilled my car!)

Ay....i know. I will keep an eye on it and have a nossey at the dip stick as per lozzd. I will be doing a few rounds tomoz in the search of money a few people owe me. Will then give it a full checkup just before i leave for Wales

cheers guys:)
