Trekker
It was a crisp clear day yesterday so I took the dogs for a walk along the cliffs in the afternoon and slipped my wife's Canon PowerShot A540 into my pocket. The original idea being to take some photographs of some 'earthworks' that are visible in the low oblique sunlight, with a view to identifying what they are.
Anyway, I saw these trees against the darkening sky and thought that they would make a good picture. My idea was to create a feeling of a stark and cold landscape. I wanted to use the effect of 'banding' caused by the ploughed field, the dry stone dyke and the field beyond.
I cropped the picture using 'Picassa' to give it a panoramic format which would exagerate the 'banding' effect.
Techinical details:
Camera - Canon PowerShot A540
Focal Length - 23.2 mm
Shutter Speed - 1/200th second
Aperture - f5.5
Metering - Matrix
Camera Setting - Aperture Priority
