Red Currant Bun
In Third Gear
My Series 3 ( 1982, swb, petrol, 2.25L) has been in my garage for the last 3 years in dry storage. It's been started regularly but before being garaged was pounding the roads of West Africa on a 6000 mile trip. I am getting the vehicle prepared for full time road use once again. I have rebuilt the carburetter using an original rebuild kit but the new fuel/air voume screw that came with the kit was the wrong size (too big) which suprised me.
It was running a bit rich before and the screw seemed to be rather loose and not making too much of a difference when screwed in or out. The screw point seems fine and not damaged. Should it be changed and how important is this screw in the overall running of the engine and carb.
Thanks,
Red Currant Bun
