What did you do to your Series today?

Ahh yes, VW Kombis, had two in the olden days :) , both were "distinctive" the first one was "fill the oil and check the petrol" and oil on extractors exhaust pipe smell.
And the fact that the heat exchangers for the cab heat works off the exhaust, and the air that's being forced thru the exchangers is drawn from the engine bay

and the aromas you mention are very much part of the experience. I have often wondered if each has its unique aroma, or the oil/petrol/metal/heat you mention are across the brand?
I once pulled up at a filling station, a guy wandered over and asked if I'd lift the bonnet, which I did. He stuck his head in and took a deep breath, "I miss that smell" he says.

Then I got his life story. 😏

sort of fitted the new pedal lock ... i say sort of , because on final fitting the now completed welding is a mm or so too high and it will not allow the one pin for the brake pedal to go through .. almost but not enough ... so tomorrow out comes the file ....

Keep well mate, don't over do sweet Fanny Adams, let everyone do everything for you. Don't over exert yourself, and eat well.
Its funny though when you get a picture in your head of the people your speaking/writing to on these forums, I've enjoyed our little banter about turbos and who is right or wrong, the only thing I didn't realise is how fucking ugly you are🤣 so you better be nice to those nurses mate, or else your fucked, love yer!!

I've just come back from emergency heart surgery today (as you do!), the NHS were flipping amazing but they say I gotta rest for a bit!
I'm gutted I'm not even allowed to drive the Landy until I've had an assessment next month, let alone do any work on it :(!

Was it painful when they pulled those sticky things off your chest hairs? ;)
When I was taken to hosp a while ago the paramedics stuck a lot of sticky things on my chest, then the hospital took them off... arrgh ... and stuck their own sticky things on because the paramedics' sticky things didn't talk to the hospital's equipment o_O
Hope you're soon up and about.
