Here's something I got not long ago but have used loads, a generic set of 1/4" drive bore brushes. I'm not here to recommend a specific set, just that you buy one.
A common scene, you've just fought a nut off with an open ended spanner, 7.5° at a time, and you're dreading putting it back on.
Run one of these down the centre and it'll take the rust right out, effortless.
You're left with a nut that you can spin on with just your fingers, it really takes a lot of the pain out of this hobby; the stud benefits from a brushing too but that's easier done.
All I'd say is they're pretty feeble so don't expect them to do much else but brush rust out. You can get as big or small a set as you might expect to need, in my case it was £10 well spent. Just search "bore brush set" on your favoured marketplace.
