Help adding spade/shovel and pick axe to a 2a mk 8 please.

I am hoping to add a spade and axe to the back of my mk 8 FFR.

Someone mentioned that the fixings are still available as NATO Land Rover parts.

Would anyone have the parts list / diagram and an idea of where to source them.

Craddocks seem to have most bits but they seem very expensive.

EBay has kits but the seller told me they donā€™t fit a military tailgate??

Any advice?

Wow - thanks - got a picture

I know that it's stating the obvious, but the faster you need the stuff, the more it's going to cost you.
The shovels are fairly common, you'll probably find the correct size item at some of the ex Army and Navy shops.
The pick axe head is smaller and thinner than the civvy commercial equivalent.
You may be able to pick up a military tailgate in poor condition and cannibalise it for the fittings.
Like I said, just depends on how much of a rush you're in.
I knew a guy who collected two and a half series land rover toolkits just from buying up tools at car boot sales.

Seems you can track most bits down but the accumulated cost is high

Welcome to Land Rovers :)

If you play the long game, you can easily get all the parts for way less than the costs you're seeing now. Car boots and mil-surp sales are a good place to start, as are miss-labled parts on ebay. You can sometimes get quite a lot for very little by searching for almost what you want, but leaving out the expensive sounding words.

would those expensive words be .. military and land rover .. or " i want them now so will pay what ever you ask for them.....". :)
