Land Rover 110 Twin Cab

In Second Gear
Hello Folks
I am the proud owner of a 2000 Freelander xedi commercial, But recently got a lend of a new Defender twincab 110 from my LR garage for the weekend. The twincab has come down in price due to changes in Irish Vehicle reg Tax

I loved it, I suppose its one way or the other. I have two questions before ordering one, First can you get a cab to cover/replace the canvas back..... for security reasons and two, could I put the spare wheel on the tailgate, like my freelander for advertising.

Cheers Tony

Not sure about the spare wheel. but I think you can get a cover for the back, there are a couple of them twin cab thingys near to me and I am sure I have seen one of them at some point with what looked like hard cover on, I presume the cover is an original Land Rover one.

You can get covers for the rear tubs, Ifor Williams is one company that springs to mind that probably make them.
You can try a swing away wheel carrier to mount the wheel on the rear. I dont think the wheel will work on the tail gate as it will stop it dropping down unless you convert the tail gate to hinge on the side.
A simple swing away would be much easier.

Thanks alot the advice guys, I also got on to LR special vechicles, a hard cab is available, I think it called a truckman cab, & in relation to the spare tyre, I think the tailgate will have to be changed for the safari style, hinged at the side with a swing arm spare tyre carrier. LR special vechicles are to get back t me this later this week.
