Rear door locking.

The rear door on my 2023 Defender 90 will not lock. Has anyone any experience of this please.

Is the handle moving its full range?

On my car the door lock is actuated by a relatively small lever/switch located at the back of the door handle.

It won’t lock if it isn’t fully closed. With the door open, push the closer in the lock fully round / down - the bit that is pushed by the striker on the body when you close the door.
It clicks twice. Then see if you can operate the lock using the lever on the back or the key in the barrel.

Here is another twist, technically my insurance is now invalidated against theft

A 2023 model should be under Warranty?
Take it to a dealer.

Oooop’s down to me this one. Rear door locks and unlocks by key proximity. Confusion as it does so silently and Wii any indication.
