You made the mistake of asking first... 
Went to Washington [uk] Car restoration club day some fantastic restored cars and met a couple of lads with Defenders.
Had gone in my series 3 but just parked outside as to put it on the field your there from 9am till 4pm.
Forgot I had the 205 wheel combination on it was like driving a sports car to drive ,racing away from the lights , shame it's so noisy at 70mph as on long runs I fit the 7,50's

We have to be very careful here, not so much this time of year, but later, you need permission to be on most of the land as you never really know which way the bullets are flying when the toffs have hands on rifles. So generally safer to ask first. Some of them have this thing that they call "doing a McNab" where they try and catch a salmon, shoot a grouse and stalk a stag in one day (after the Buchan novel) and that's not a day to be on the hill. Toffs.

Learned a new word today
Kind of short for toffee nosed git... Toffee nosed because of the gentry's habit of snuff taking I think, it leaves a brown snot drop.
Knobs too, from Nobs, nobility. Nowadays any neuveau riche who can afford a grand a week in a lodge and ÂŁ400 a stalk. Generally self pleasing mouth breathers with no respect for anything and anyone.
I was once watching a nest of owls, in a tree stump about 20ft from our living room window. About 18" above the ground. They had hatched and were doing nicely. Until that week's party of toffs found them and set the dogs on them for 'sport'. Bastards.
That was the week many of their waders developed leaks, none of the boat engines ran right, one lost his sat nav thing in the loch, the boiler wasn't working right, limited hot water, a couple got flat tyres, and on their last night their chocolate sauce pudding was made with laxative chocolate. From there the next days journey home was a minimum of 70 miles before a public toilet. Shame.
Utter bastards.

They only pay for a stalk if they get a stag. One decided to go out with the stalker, they spent a good couple hours getting in place, stag identified, good clean shot. Toff takes aim, and deliberately misses so he doesn't have to pay for the days stalk. The stalker calmly took his rifle off him and smashed it off a rock. "If it misses a shot as clean as that, it's not a rifle worth having."
Ways and means.
(I should add in some form of explanation, it was a remote game lodge we were living at, I was in charge of property and machinery maintenance, Mrs BS was housekeeper and chef)
