Hi guys, I do know a few routes in the yorkshire dales but is there some way I could get to know the green lanes of this area , do I have to contact the area council? Any help would be good.

Each council is obliged to maintain a register of rights of way within the county and to make it available to the public. Many years ago I spent a very pleasant couple of hours with a helpful (and attractive) lady from North Yorkshire council looking at their maps and records.

Most counties have it online. Search for "Definitive Map Blankshire" for your own (Blank) county.

Ah ok no worries, I didn't realise that , I've just been hunting on my os maps , i used to go and do a fair few in the y dales and ny moors but have forgotten most, cheers

The OS map app is pretty good, but doesn't give any indication if you can physically get a car down the route.

The Green Lane Association looks like it would be a good source of information (if you join).

Yes I was looking at that site also , yes I do have the os map app but to be fair it's rubbish as soon as you have no signal the offline mode definitely don't work and I've raised the problem with them and they ain't interested to be fair , but it is handy when u have a good signal.
