If true it's another good reason for sticking with old Defenders or other classic cars.
I saw that on the news . From what I understood it was an add on to an app which allowed you to do things with / for your car .If true it's another good reason for sticking with old Defenders or other classic cars.

There is a proposal that all cars manufactured from 2026 onwards must have a remote cut off - a kill switch if you like.I hate that my van behaviour is computer controlled.
TD5 Completely agree about the rest - lane management, steering, parking, braking, stop/start, etc - relying on tech takes away basic driver skills and situational awareness. The quality of driving has deteriorated. You can see it on the road every day. Plus big tech has been programmed to now dictate what you can and can't do - I was stuck in a traffic jam a while ago in an Audi Q5 courtesy car. Tried to use the big screen sat nav to look for an alternative route - wouldn't let me. Kept flashing up a warning that it wasn't safe to use while on the move and that I had to pull over. Nanny stateFuel injection and engine management I'm fine with.
I believe this one is manufacturer installed monitoring. The point being the manufacturer is not using it to gather data to perhaps assist with future car design, based on customers driving behaviour/styles (nothing so altruistic), but is passing it on (or selling it) to 3rd parties without your knowledge - in this case so insurers can stitch you up with higher premiums. Plus you weren't given the option to opt out - data gathered without you knowledge and effectively 'used against you'.I saw that on the news . From what I understood it was an add on to an app which allowed you to do things with / for your car .
I'll be surprised if sooner or later, someone gets a court case going. Potentially a breach of human rights,to obtain then sell private data.Follow up to my post on car manufacturers tracking driver movements and behaviours .....
There's a conversation going on at an American site as to where the tracker/transmitter/antenna are located on different car makes. eg

Also that during services dealers are replacing antenna ripped out by owners. One guy joking that when he sold his car it came with 3 spare antenna he had removed
I saw some lo-salt in the shops the other day. Tagline on the packet "best used when cooking and eating". ???Reduced salt - salt and vinegar crisps .
I know salt intake has to be moderate but why would I choose salt and vinegar crisps in that case .
Oh and there non reduced salt - salt and vinegar crisps as well . Same colour and packaging with small swirly font “reduced salt” written somewhere .
Is this that awful Chinese "rubber" that's seems to be a mix of plastic and cardboard? I bought a rubber gaiter recently and found I could tear it like cardboard, went straight in the bin.Rubbish parts this bush has never been on the road it's on my 90 and was fitted when I built the chassis up . I noticed that cracks are appearing in the rubber.View attachment 525832
the thing that annoys me most is i used a full set of bushes from the same supplier. Is this that awful Chinese "rubber" that's seems to be a mix of plastic and cardboard? I bought a rubber gaiter recently and found I could tear it like cardboard, went straight in the bin.
Chinese rubber? Explains their population boom I suppose. Is this that awful Chinese "rubber" that's seems to be a mix of plastic and cardboard? I bought a rubber gaiter recently and found I could tear it like cardboard, went straight in the bin.
