My 08 car that has just "died" had this problem 6 weeks ago. My local indy garage said it's a common problem, they by-passed some wiring on the ignition switch and that cured the problem, but advised it needs a new steering lock. All a bit moot as the engine picked up hydraulic locked last week! There was also a problem with a bad earth from engine to chassis, no idea where, they put another earth on and that made it start a lot better. Multiple problems cost over £4k to fix, all gone to waste.
