UK Back In The Day Green Laning Photos

Here's a few pics from 2003 / 2004 - I was on a different forum back then - can't remember which one, however, a couple of chaps known as Exmoor Beast (had a red 110) and White90 (as it says) organised a weekend in Somerset...

... and not quite green laning, but here's a pic at the end of a visit to 'Woodlands' near Sevenoaks ..... that mud is still in the Land Rover 18 years later!

...sorry, a few pics turned into 1 .... I have lots of problems uploading pics from iCloud to here ... don't understand how I see the pic I want in my photo album, but when I select 'Insert Image', it's not available to select.

I used to go to woodlands.brands hatch ,itā€™s a shame they closed it down was a good course ..had a 86 ex mil 90 at the time probably around the same time as you ..may have met you šŸ™‚

Jump forward to 2010 and we headed down to mid Wales for New Years green laning. There some stunning lanes around Rhayader and here are some of the snowy highlights... This was an incredible way to spend NY and the weather was beautiful. Great mates and great times :)

And yes that is me stuck in a very frigid muddy hole. Completely cross-axle'd and going nowhere. Whatever had been through that hole before us had HUGE tyres on and one of the few times it would have been useful to have had axle lockers. The water was very cold to be groping around for recovery points with metal shackles ;)

Oh and if anyone is keen to drive over there I can highly recommend the Llanerchindda guest house. The guys (Andy and Mark) are excellent hosts and keen off-roaders. Local knowledge is essential. Plus they do a breakfast that'll se you through to dinner :)

Ahhh - there's a few pics lurking in the albums... and a few faces and names that spring to mind.
Salisbury Plain Treasure Hunt Xmas 2007. Geobloke, Toppa, AJC, Se7enUp, Airbrush, CannonballBob, JJSaul.

Also Bala Treasure Hunt August 2007. Paul Humphries, Rob Loupart, KevSull, Conrad 'Conkers' Parker, Adafish, DaveH.

A weekend around Rhayader and Brechfa.

Gap Road & Sarn Helen. 2006 - Adafish and Satancom (Jux)

Walna Scar. 2006

and there's so many more...!

That 2007 Xmas treasure hunt was the year that i got trapped in my hanibal roof tent due to iced up zips :) It was warm inside mind and comfy too.

I confess though, I do not recall your name Lodelaner or at least I can't connect a name to the pseudonym...

I recall you camped at Shrewton - and the canvas was frozen solid in the morning.

My forum name was Widget back then. My proper official name is Jonathan or sometimes JB. our paths crossed a few times in person and online - but it has been over 10 years now.

Good to re-meet you JB ;) Now i recognise Widget... There have been a number of +10 year old forumites making there way back in to the fold this year. Myself included...
