Hi all,
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but after much searching I can't find a definitive answer to this.
I have recently just purchased an ex-RAF Defender 90 300tdi (my first ever Defender - in stunning yellow!), the chap who I bought it off was the one who obtained it from the forces, and registered it last year (2015). However, as the car is an original 1996, would this affect the tax band it falls into?
In other words, do I have to treat it as a (new?) 2015 registered car, and as such pay the new tax amount, or will the DVLA consider it to be the 1996 car that it is, and pay that?
Any help would be massively appreciated,
Cheers,
Alf
