Early 107 build progress

Wow, that really looks good! You're making good progress too. This tiny truck is going to be a unique machine to say the least.
Thank you.
Spent four hours today fitting disc brake, chain and adjuster and sorting steering rods out.
One step forward and then one back with the steering, should have planned it better but nearly there. Exhaust was in the way and I need room for the gearlever which will have to go on the off side.

Solved the steering problem, couldn't put rack under chassis as it would foul the drive belt, it's on top of chassis but so is the exhaust which has to run along top of chassis due to engine being put in sideways.
Fit it tomorrow and also get the wheels lined up so as I can measure for the body width

Three and a half inch headlamps turned up today, one broken but replacement on way. Think I'll need rims as the headlamps would be 7 inch plus rim if I'm right ?

Bit of progress today

Cut rear axle to length and drilled it for an R clip or maybe split pin.

Spaced and fitted all the wheels and the width is 29 inches so body can be 31 and three quarters wide.

Test fit for wing and front bumper looks promising although bumper too low and will have to be cut down along its length.

Also made the exhaust sections and brackets to bring it out behind the off side rear wheel

Still got steering column and brake / accelerator pedals to fabricate plus gear lever

Next problem is getting it off the bench šŸ˜„ šŸ˜„

Was hoping for something simpler, cut the side out of a washing machine maybe :) That's a good job mate, have you finished it ?

Depends on what your tin knocking skills are like, mine are non-existent.

I finished that one a couple of years ago, it's already been handed down to the second child; it's just a bed but it has a rolling chassis underneath.

can you make one from a real bonnet ? cut it into quarters and shrink it. i have seen body shells done like that to build stock cars.
Ha, got a small vice on a wobbly table and working mostly outside so nothing fancy, just as long as it looks right at a distance šŸ˜„
Might make a frame first then decide, going to start on cab Monday, just don't know how tall it is so guess work again

Rain rain rain, can't get much done without getting wet :(
I was reluctantly going to cut the bonnet up to make my little roof and bonnet for the 107 but it peed down
Hoping for a fine morning tomorrow, got to cut a rear cab panel and the tub panels but looking like next week the way the forecast is going.
