the plan with the tray is to find a dish of some sort to go into the hole where the gear leaver should be.

it came from bolt on bits on ebay. it tidy's the area where the gear leaver was .

Yep there good bits of kit , got one for mine ,good old bobs bits

Another day of fighting with carpet it's all in now

A little bit of progress today. I cut this panel from 18mm ply and covered it with 4way stretch carpet.it tidy the area around the gear shifter a bit.

still a long way to go with it. i have a week off after this week so hoping the weather improves so i can start painting the remaining panels.

Today I have finished the first seat one more to do. It looks a bit different now. These are the britpart kits they fit ok but a few things could be done to make them easier to fit.the back covers are a bit of a battle to get on and do the plastic strip that holds it in.

The second seat is recovered and fitted. These were done with the britpart kits. They are not as easy to fit as the you tube videos show not sure if I would use them again. It's a two person job to get the clips together.oveall they look good for the money.

Still working on the idea that if it can be wrong it will. I had to move the shift forward as where I had it the cable was too short.now I can remake the trim around the shifter

connected it to a battery to see what is working. the things not working are brake lights warning lights except heater plugs o/s dip and main beam head light and n/s indicator repeater. then i had to try the starter and it ran for a few seconds on the diesel in the pump.

now started on getting more of the electrics working . the side repeater and headlight is working the brake light switch is working so it must be a short in the wire from the switch to the lights as it blows the fuse. still cant get my head round the dash warning lights. rear fog heater plugs warnings are working left indicator warning works but not right or hazzard none of the others work. i hate electrics.

dash lights are now working my neighbor had a look ex lr tech so very handy to have living next door. it was crap on the connectors behind the dash and the led bulbs fitted in the past. just the brake lights to go.

painted the windscreen frame so its nice and hard ready for fitting a heated screen. filled all the oils and changed the filter. had it running on axle stands and it selects the gears ok so a bit of progress. hope to get the electrics finished next weekend.

It's nice and warm so I painted the side panels and gave the windscreen frame another coat. If only I had more space.

Now lifted into place bolts can be done tomorrow.

today it moved under its own power. forward three feet back three feet then forward again.
