So this is a problem that all Defender owners eventually face. The black plastic finishings on the front end of the Defender (90, 110 or 130) all dull over time and end up looking very tatty and drab.
The good news is that it is very very easy to sort out.
All you need is some Satin Black Paint. I have used Halfords own Satin Black and it works a treat and lasts really well too.
How to:
Well worth doing in my honest opinion.

How to:
- Take light finishers and grille off of the vehicle.
- Wash the finishers and grille with warm soapy water and leave to dry, it is important to dry them thoroughly.
- Once dry choose a suitable place to spray them, well ventilated, well lit, dust free and breeze free.
- Place the finisher/grille/vent cover on to a block of wood (bucket, brick, etc.) to raise it above the ground and keep the edges clear from getting stuck to stuff.
- Make sure you shake the spray can properly as instructed on the tin. Do a test spray to make sure the nozzle is spraying properly and also to get a feel for how quickly the paint will come out.
- When spraying use smooth sweeping motions across the item. Take your time to get good coverage, but it is equally as important to not to be too slow.
- You will need to spray 2 coats.
- Leave to dry over night before fitting back on to the vehicle.
Well worth doing in my honest opinion.
